Question
i have a prepaid cell phone from alaska if i get a calling plan from there and but the sim card in a unlocked phone can i use it in alaska and the lower 48?

Answer
If you have prepaid service from Alaska, you have to check with your carrier to see if the plan is for Alaska only or if it is will work outside of Alaska in the lower 48. You can likely use your SIM in Alaska in an unlocked GSM phone, but whether it will work outside of Alaska is not based on the phone, it's based on your service and whether or not your carrier has coverage outside of Alaska. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
