Question
I dropped my phone in water a few months back. Dried it off and let the battery rest for 24 hrs. The problem is that sometimes the phone works perfectly but other times the screen is blank. I can still receive incoming calls and can send outgoing calls. I was wondering if the battery could be faulty and be causing this problem.

If the screen goes blank on occasion, the issue is definitely not with the battery. This is very likely a symptom of the fall into the water. Water damage is unfortunately one of those things that can cause all kinds of issues and they are not resolveable. You will likely need to replace the phone when the screen finally goes blank and stays blank, which hopefully won't happen anytime soon. Don't waste your money getting a new battery.
