Question
ok so i have this blackberry curve 8310.my cousin gave me this phone as a early christmas present, its an att phone. though i want to change it to tmobile.i think its locked too. what is the process of getting my phone activated?

Answer
In order to use this BlackBerry with T-Mobile, you would need to pay someone to have it SIM unlocked then you would have to download the software from RIM for it that goes with the AT&T 8310. If the phone has never been used, you can get it to communicate with the BlackBerry server with T-Mobile by paying for the $24.99 data plan in addition to what you have today. If it is used and has never been activated, it will not be able to be activated with the T-Mobile servers because the number is already registered as AT&T. I don't know where your cousin got the BlackBerry, but if you really want to use this phone, it would likely be better to use it with AT&T then try to pay the money, time and hassle of getting it to work with T-Mobile. You would be better to sell it to someone with AT&T and buy a used T-Mobile BlackBerry. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
