Hi
when I use certain apps I get a message saying i need to enter zip code and can't see where in settings to dothis  

Answer
The applications that are asking for a zip code use GPS. They should allow you to do this within the application. The other way to handle this issue is to allow the application to use your current location. Then, it won't need a zip code. If you can tell me the exact application and when it asks for the zip code, I should be able to specifically help you with this. You don't have to set up your zip code in the phone as a default.
