Cellular Phones/metro vs others

Question
We have had T-Mobile for 2yrs.  Am thinking of changing because in this economy I need to cut costs.  (and I was unimpresed w/ paying to talk to someone else on t-mob., paying to retrieve my messages and even some 800 calls)

Is Metro or Boost any good?  We just want basic phones, nothing fancy and we want good reception, free long distance, don't care about texting.

Thanks

Answer
If MetroPCS or Boost works where you live and work and travel, then they are fine, but these are unlimited plans so be sure that you wouldn't be paying more than what you pay today. T-Mobile's new unlimited plan is the same cost as MetroPCS, so I'm not sure that you would be saving money by going to them and you would have to buy a new phone and you would lose mobile-to-mobile. There are not anywhere near as many people on these carriers than with T-Mobile. Why are you having to pay for mobile-to-mobile and 800 numbers with T-Mobile? You shouldn't be if you have a standard plan. What kind of plan do you have? Is it prepaid? If so, I would consider going to post-paid. Let me know. Thanks. DebiN
