Cellular Phones/old sim card w/ATT

Question
I have been w/ATT for over 5 years. I want to upgrade my phone but they tell me I have to change my plan/sim card. This will increase my cost with less mins.. Can I use my older phones sim card with an upgraded phone, say the samsung Impression or similiar?
You will not be able to use your old blue AT&T SIM card with any of the new AT&T Mobility phones. I can assure you that it is worth going with a new phone, SIM and plan. Don't forget that you will get the phone for a lower subsidized price, it will be under a 12 month warranty, you will now have rollover minutes, it will have access to the 3G network and a host of other things. You may think it will cost you more, but if you weigh all these other things, at worst, it will be the same. See if they would be willing to give you free early evenings or some additional minutes if you upgrade. They may very well do this if you ask. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
