Question ok i have a phone with metro pcs.the first phone i have i droped it and it broke in half there for now im unable to use it.i then payed for a used phone from a friend. when i called to get my number changed over it said that somone is usein the phone and its still on but the sev on the used phone is off. is there a way i can find out the billing info for the phone by the esn number becase the phone says its has no sev ?
Answer Unfortunately, there isn't any way for you to research who the phone belonged to. Whenever someone with a CDMA phone (like those used with MetroPCS) decides that they no longer want to use their phone, they need to notify their carrier so that the carrier (in this case, MetroPCS) can "clear" the ESN number, allowing someone else to be able to activate the phone. So, even though the phone service is not being used, your friend either didn't pay his final bill or never cancelled the service, which means that he (if the phone belonged to him) needs to contact MetroPCS to get the ESN cleared. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
