Question I bought a generic phone off of ebay from a chinese seller and now that seems so stupid but anyway I use at&t and I am unable to access the internet or send mms messages. The error message I was getting was gprs not subscribed. Now that I followed the instructions, I think to the letter, I double checked, that you gave to program the phone for at&t, now I get a generic error message that sending the message failed. I do have bars. AT&T hasn't been able to help. The seller offered a warranty but then they are unreachable and only respond to my emails once a week or so. My 10 yr old lost my other phone and I am unable to upgrade for a while. I am desperate. I can't send or receive pics or use mms at any rate. Please help me.
Answer If you followed the directions that I gave on this site and it is still not working, I'm not sure what I can do to help you. Do you have MMS messaging set up with AT&T today? You have to have a data package (like MediaNet) otherwise these settings won't work. If you have bars of service and can send and receive calls and you have a data package, and you are certain that the settings are right, then it should work. You might want to try taking the settings to an AT&T store and have them verify for you that you have entered them correctly. They can help you with that. They just don't know the phone to be able to start the process. I hope this helps. Worst case scenario, you might want to consider purchasing a refurbished phone from AT&T on-line on their site. I'm sorry for asking a silly question, but is MMS and internet so important that you can't use the phone if you don't have these features? A refurbished phone may solve your problems, but I would try very hard to get your money back on the Chinese phone. These things are really a ripoff for most people, I'm afraid to say. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
