Cellular Phones/picking a cell phone

Question
Hi Denny, thanks for being available.  I live near Cleveland, OH & am looking to finally cancel my home phone & get a cell phone.  I don’t talk on the phone too much, maybe 10-20 minutes in the eve, because I can make calls at work during the day.  What plan(s) would be the best value for me?  Thanks & have a blessed day.

Answer
greg, thanks for the question.  if you are looking for the best plan, it will either be with att or verizon.  both have plans that are 39.99/month and offer 450 daytime and free or 5000 night and weekend minutes.  both will be able to be used across the whole US, and have zero long distance fees, so you can call anywhere in the US as well.  ask for an employment discount. depending on what company you work for, you may get one.  also, if you are over the age of 65, ask for the senior plans.  i've mentioned the 2 largest companies so you will have no issues with proper coverage.  other companies may offer more minutes, but do not buy from them.  your phone may not work where you want it to.  also, whichever company you choose, have the reps show you the coverage at your home since this will be where you need it most.  hope this helps.

Expertise

I can answer questions regarding the actual phones, contracts, what to look for when purchasing a wireless phone, and the ins and outs of all the carriers. I can easily answer basic questions as well as in depth questions. I can also direct you to the carrier that best suits your needs not theirs. I currently work in management for one of the major carriers. I want to try and bridge the gap between carriers and customers in regards to the lack of customer service that seems to be dragging the industry down.
