Question QUESTION: Ok I have a unlocked blackberry curve 8320 I am paying for
my data plan however my service indicator is lowercase
edge... i have no host routing tables and barely any service
books. I have the data plan and it worked fine on my
pearl... but when i put my sim into the curve i have regular
network service i just dont have blackberry internet
service.
such as emails and all that jazz...
please any suggestions on how to get this to work ... thanks
ANSWER: Every time you change to a new BlackBerry, the device has to be activated on the server. They don't just work when you put your SIM card into the phone. If the device is branded by your carrier, you can easily activate it. If it branded by another carrier, you will need to download the firmware for this model from your carrier and then activate it. Either way, the device has to be activated, otherwise, you will not be able to use any data features. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN

QUESTION: Thanks for the response. I have tried talking with T mobile
and they say that the 8320 is their brand of blackberry and
at@t is 8310 and verizon is 8330 the phone i have is T mobiles
so it is the right phone thats why i am confused.
Answer Actually, the T-Mobile people don't realize that AT&T also sells an 8320. They have an 8300, 8310 and 8320. The 8310 has GPS, the 8320 has WiFi. Is the phone branded by AT&T? If so, you just need to download the 8320 firmware for T-Mobile onto it. Please keep in mind that not all the features may work because AT&T's 8320 is different than T-Mobile's. All the BlackBerrys ending in 30 (i.e., 8330) are CDMA and both Sprint and Verizon sell an 8330. Hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
