Cellular Phones/Cell repeater

Question
Hi,

I have purchased a Cell Repeater.  I understand this is not a given, but I think it is worth a try due to the poor quality of the signal we get inside.

I also understand we will get instructions for the installation.  I was wondering if you or if you know of someone or a website that may have any Expert tips / do's and dont's for the installation of the antenna to maximize the reception and transmission; that one wouldn't normally find  in the instructions

The model is a 'Digital Antenna DA4000 SBR.

Answer
The dos and don'ts are that if you put up a repeater and your carrier finds out about it, they can shut off your service. You can coordinate with your carrier for an "in-building" solution that uses repeaters, but you pay for that service and many small businesses do this when the inside signal is weak or non-existent. If you go this route that you are going and the repeater is interferring with the carrier's service in your area, they will find out about it, can track it down to your home and will shut it down. When you sign a service agreement with your carrier, the terms and conditions state that you will not interfere with their signal and this type of device does just that. For $399.99, this isn't a power horse of a repeater, so you may not have a problem with your carrier finding out about it. If you get a signal outside of your home and can locate the outside antenna properly, then you shouldn't have a problem inside using this device. If you have no signal outside of your home, the device won't work inside, period. Installation isn't too difficult, but as I mentioned, please do keep in mind that installing any type of repeater without your cell phone provider's permission is illegal. I hope this helps. Thanks.
