Question
I am looking to get a blackberry for my Metro PCS account but dont want to pay the $400 MetroPCS is asking.  Are the numerous phones on Ebay legitimate that say they are "flashed" to MetroPCS and will work?  What are the limitations of a flashed blackberry?

Answer
If there is any way that you can get a BlackBerry that is branded by MetroPCS on line versus one that is flashed, that would be the much better route for you. Otherwise, if the BlackBerry is Metro flashed and is the exact same model that MetroPCS sells, then you should not have a problem with it. However, please keep in mind that if you want to use the Blackberry for any type of data services from MMS to accessing the internet, you will have to get a BlackBerry data plan from Metro. A BlackBerry will not work for data without it, period. So, if you see someone is selling a Storm that they say is Metro flashed, don't buy it, but if it is the model of Curve that Metro is selling, that is fine. I would strongly recommend that you buy from someone who will provide you with a guarantee that it will work and you can return it if it doesn't. So, the limitations are that if it isn't the BlackBerry they sell, it won't work. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
