Question
Hi,
I was wondering whether the mobile phone service provider Mobiz is compatible for use with the Blackberry Storm. Do you know of any providers in Australia that I could use for an unlocked Blackberry Storm.
Regards
Cal

Answer
You aren't going to be able to use a BlackBerry with any provider unless that provider has firmware that can be downloaded onto the BlackBerry that is compatible. In otherwords, unless your provider sells the Storm (which they don't in this case), the Storm won't work for you. You can use your SIM card in an unlocked Storm and use it for voice and text and can keep your contacts and calendar, use the camera, etc., but what you can't and won't be able to do is use any of the data features, i.e., MMS messaging, WAP (internet) no matter what you do. A Blackberry will only work if it is associated with a BlackBerry server and the one and only way to do that is with the firmware for your carrier loaded onto the device and a BlackBerry data plan on your account and the PIN number of the device not associated with another BlackBerry server. To put it in a nutshell, you will not be able to get thisdevice to work with your network. Sorry that I didn't have better news for you. Thanks. DebiN
