Question Hello, I have an Old AT&T blue sims card and Samsung X426 cell phone, I would like to purchase either a Qwartry style or touch screen cell phone that will still be able to access M-mode using my existing old AT&T plan. Can you tell me if there are any phones in either or both types that would be able to access the M-mode features?
Answer If you don't want to change your plan and still use your old AT&T Wireless "blue" SIM card, then what you need to purchase is an old AT&T Wireless phone. The new company name is "at&t" (in lower case letters). If you can find an old used AT&T Wireless phone, it will already have the mMode and other AT&T Wireless settings in the phone. Otherwise, what you would need to do is to write down the internet settings that are in your current phone, purchase a quad band SIM unlocked GSM phone and then program those settings into the new phone. That is the only way that you will be able to do what you are trying to do. If you want my honest opinion, I would strongly recommend converting to the new AT&T, getting a brand new free phone from them and updating your plan (which you would have to do). Your old mMode account will be converted to a new account and you don't have to worry about the rest. Keep in mind that you will get rollover minutes (which you don't get now), access to the 3G network (which you don't get now) and don't have to keep trying to find old phones and worry about when your SIM is finally going to give out. It's really not worth sticking with the old AT&T anymore. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
