Cellular Phones - prepay?

Expert: DebiN - 7/10/2009

Question
i have an existing prepay account with verizon... im looking for a new phone. i was wondering if i bought a brand new blackberry pearl if i could make it prepay?
help :)

Answer
Unfortunately not, I'm afraid. You have to buy a prepaid phone from Verizon directly and they don't have any existing prepaid BlackBerrys. If you really want a BlackBerry, it's well worth your while to go post-paid instead. The cost of prepaid with data is really not a good idea anyway and post paid is always less expensive than prepaid. Prepaid works great if you only need a temporary phone or if you have no credit, but if this is not the case, then you should definitely go post-paid, if at all posssible. Then, you can get the BlackBerry and the unlimited data plan and you will be good to go (hopefully). I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
