Cellular Phones - texting music to phone

Expert: DebiN - 7/2/2009

Question
When I had my phone set up at sprint, the customer service rep said I could find websites online that would let me text music I had downloaded onto my computer to my phone.  Is this possible, and how would I find one of these websites?

I have a Katana, and my service is through Sprint Nextel

Answer
You can't text music. Text messagings (SMS) is simple 160 character text messaging. You can use MMS to send texts that contain links, pictures, potentially music. What I believe the Sprint rep was telling you was that you could find sites with music that were compatible with your Sprint phone and then use the USB cable to tether your phone to your PC and download the music. However, in order to do this, you need software and the cable from Sprint and compatible music. Texting music isn't possible, so I think he may have misled you inadvertently. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
