Question Hi..I have a Verizon LG Voyager..is it possible to use my cell phone as a modem to utilize the internet on my computer without purchasing the mobile usb internet service. I did purchase a bluetooth dongle and made a connection, however to pair the devices together I needed a password on my cell phone, I tried 0000 but that did not pair them together any suggestions or ideas about how to do this. I thought it was possible to pair the devices together and use my phone as a modem..
Answer It is not possible to use your Verizon phone as a modem. It's not even about a password for bluetooth tethering. Even if you get the devices tethered, you still won't be able to use the device as a modem. You can only use an aircard or data device with a tethering plan if you want to use a device as a modem. It's Verizon that limits this and you need the correct drivers and plans to utilize a device as a modem. As long as you have Verizon, this will be the case. There are some carriers who allow tethering of devices as a modem, but not many of them and not Verizon. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
