Question
I just got a new AT&T Curve 8900. I have wifi at home and at the office and want to use wifi (instead of the $$ network) for doing my email and browsing.
Is it possible to do this? How?

Thanks Much!
Harvey

Answer
Unfortunately, it is not possible to use WiFi at home instead of the network. You can use WiFi at home, that's not a problem. But when you have a BlackBerry, in order to use it for anything other than voice, you have to have a BlackBerry data plan ($30.00). With the data plan, you get WiFi for no extra charge, but what you can't do is use WiFi without a data plan. And this is true for all carriers for all BlackBerrys. A BlackBerry does not work without a BlackBerry data plan for data. If you bought the device from somewhere other than AT&T, you will need to sign up for a BlackBerry data plan. If you don't have one, then the Curve will just be a phone. No way around this, I'm afraid. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
