Question
Hi

phone for an elderly person. A phone that has a picture of a phone and not many other applications. I'm looking for a touch screen phone  which they may use once a day,  or for emergency
I don't care so much what plan to use as much as finding a simple phone -

thanks for your help

Ken

Answer
Unfortunately, all the touchscreen phones today are not simple. They are all pretty complex devices and typically Smartphones. You might be better off getting a candybar style basic phone with larger keys and programming the speed dials for this elderly person so that they only have to press the number 2, for example, to make that one call a day. You should be concerned about the carrier because if you want a simple phone, you will need to get the carrier who sells that phone for service otherwise you open up a whole can of worms. You want a carrier who has good, consistent service where this person lives so that they always get a signal. All of the carriers sell basic candy bar style phones and if you just program the 1 or 2 keys that this person needs to dial once or twice a day, you should be good to go. I hope this helps. DebiN
