Question
It has been two years since I bought this w610i phone. Its an amazing phone, but since the past year, I have not been using this phone because of a major problem, A headset icon appears on the top left corner of the screen. This does not allow me to:
1: Charge the Phone
2: Dial any number
3: Receive any calls
4: Listen to music etc.

Only 15 days had passed since the warranty period expired, this problem occoured. The Sony guys said we need to replace the phone and you need to pay us 70 % of the total phone cost and we will replace the machineary inside.

Now many other problems have come up, as I am not using it that some buttons and the memory stick are not working at all. There is a network problem. It will say that its a vodafone connection but a n network coverage message appears on the screen. Please do help me.

Answer
In all truth and honesty, cell phones have a life and it sounds like yours is getting to the end of it's lifetime. The problems you are having are not network problems - they are phone problems. Since you have had the phone for 2 years and you have been told by Sony that the device needs to be repaired, I would strongly recommend that you either repair or replace the phone. There's no need to troubleshoot the problems, the phone needs repair. Since you have had the phone for two years already, it would be my advice to replace the phone. It's much smarter to start over with a new phone then to spend money on repairing a 2 year old phone. It's almost never worth repairing an old phone. I would assume you don't want to hear this, but that is my advice. Thanks. DebiN
