Cellular Phones/Metro PCS messenger phone can't receive texts

Question
I just ported my number today from T-Mobile to Metro PCS. I bought the metro pcs phone from metro and they activated it & did the porting of the number. It took a few hours and it all ported over to the new metro phone except I cannot receive text messages but I can send them. I have the samsung messenger phone. i tried to call their customer service & when I finally got a human on the phone he wouldn't help me as he needed an 8 digit security code & metro never gave me one or asked me anything like that they just took my S.S. number & address no paperwork said they would send a text when payment was due.Is there something wrong with the phone or will it totally port over with text and all in a few hours?

Answer
Give it a few hours and probably by the time this gets to you, it will all be cleared up. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the phone or your service. It just takes awhile sometimes for porting to go completely through. Oftentimes text messaging is the last to go. I'm sure the problem is now resolved. Be aware that MetroPCS is nothing like T-Mobile. If you were used to T-Mobile customer service, don't expect the same thing from a very small, regional carrier. It's a completely different experience. Thanks. DebiN
