Question
QUESTION: I have a Palm Treo 650 and have been using a T-Mobile Sim card for about a year.  All of a sudden today I am getting an error message that the sim card won't work with the phone.  What can I do?  Thanks!

ANSWER: I'm not aware of a message that indicates that a SIM won't work with a device. What is the actual message you are getting? Does it say "Insert SIM"? If so, it means the SIM isn't seated properly. SIMs typically do not go bad. You can take your phone to T-Mobile and have them look at it. That would be your best bet. I hope this helps. Thanks. QUESTION: I also thought that it was the Sim card, but I went to T-Mobile and got a new one and it still didn't work.  The message I get is "Your phone cannot be used with this Sim card".  So all of a sudden something is wrong with the phone not the card.  I have tried hard resets and nothing seems to work.  Thanks, Kathy

ANSWER: Is the Treo an AT&T device? What may have happened is that the T-Mobile network in your area may have been upgraded to 3G and now the device won't work properly on the network. I have never seen this before.

QUESTION: The phone is from Cingulair.  I have an old 600 that I had stopped using because the orange spots were starting to take over the bottom of the device and I am waiting for a new battery to arrive and then I am going to try that phone and see if it works.  I bought that one from palmOne originally so I am hoping that it will work.  It has been about 6 months since I used it and the battery is completely dead and I can't recharge it.  Is there a way to recharge a completely dead battery?  Thanks, Kathy

Answer
Then I think the problem may be a change in T-Mobile's network perhaps. If it won't work with their SIM card now, that's the only thing that I can think of. You can charge a completely dead battery. Just plug it in and let it sit. It should charge eventually unless the battery itself can no longer be charged (which is always possible). I'm sorry that you are having this problem and hope that you can get the device to work. Thanks. DebiN
