Question I ordered a palm treo 650 from ebay that was cricket ready. Where I live it is unable to be used. The cricket here requires triband network in order to be used. Now i tried going to pocket to have it reflashed and they were unable due to the phone being in network search. Is there a way I could still use it or have it undone.
Answer I believe that what you are being told is not completely accurate. Cricket uses two bands, 850 and 1900 on the CDMA network. There isn't a third band in the US. The reason that you probably can't use the device is because either it wasn't flashed properly, which is likely, because Cricket does not sell Palm Treos and therefore there is no image to flash it to. So if someone flashed it, they used a different phone's image that was not fully compatible. Not a good idea. You can't change what was already done to this phone. If I were you, I would strongly recommend that you return the phone to be people you bought it from and tell them that it doesn't work with Cricket. It has nothing to do with your area or anything like that. Basically, the phone wont' work with Cricket. I also recommend that you get a phone from Cricket directly or at least if you are going to buy it on-line, buy a phone that is branded by Cricket, not flashed to them. And you won't be able to get a PDA like what you may be wanting. If they don't sell it, a flashed version will not work properly. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
