Cellular Phones/Pay As You Go SIM

Question
I live in the UK, but regularly visit family in Cincinnati. It is very expensive for me to use my UK mobile whilst in Cincinnati to make and receive calls from the people I am visiting in the US (both to their mobiles and land lines). It is also very expensive for them to call me on my (UK) mobile from either their land line, or mobiles.

I would like to know if I can buy a Pay As You Go SIM from a US mobile service provider which I can use in my UK mobile whilst I am in Cincinnati. My UK mobile is not locked to a provider and is a Nokia 6310i (yes, the old one!).

Assuming I can buy a US Pay As You Go SIM, which one offers the best deal for making/receiving calls & texts to/from my US family. The family in Cincinnati have iPhones with service provided by ATT.

Hope you can help.

Answer
If you want to communicate with your family who have AT&T service, then buy a prepaid SIM card from AT&T with free Mobile to Mobile. That way, when you call them, you won't be charged extra. That is by far your best and cheapest way to go. FYI though, this phone WILL NOT work everywhere in the US. It is a tri-band phone with only one band that works in the US, (1900 MHz). AT&T and T-Mobile use both the 850 and 1900 bands. If you really want a phone that works with prepaid service in the US, just get a phone from AT&T with your new prepaid service and use that when you come to the states. I hope this helps. Thanks.
