Cellular Phones/Removing Information From a Broken Phone

Question
I am looking to get rid of my LG Voyager (VX10000) which I "fried" by spilling coke all over it inside of a purse. I want to make sure that no one will be able to get any information from the phone if they are able to get it working after I sell the phone for parts. Can you tell me, is there anyway to make sure info. will not be taken from the phone after it is sold. The phone will not turn on whether plugged into the wall or unplugged.

Answer
If the phone is broken and won't turn on, then there is no way for anyone else to get any information on it. How are you going to sell it, if it's broken? I would strongly recommend that you trash the phone (destroy it) since there's no reason to sell a damaged phone. The parts themselves don't contain the information, so I wouldn't worry about that. Plus, anyone who would be buying the phone for parts probably wouldn't care about the information on the phone. Honestly, I wouldn't sell it for parts, I would trash it completely. That's just my opinion, but I hope it helps. Thanks. DebiN
