is there a purely voice cellular company out there? don't want texting, video, downloads -only cell phone service to give to kid for emergency?
You can purchase a voice only plan from any carrier. You can have text, data, etc. all blocked. All of the major carriers can provide you with a plan that can be used for a child for emergencies or limited or low usage. You can restrict the phone to only be able to dial certain numbers also. I would suggest checking with the carrier who you get your service with today and then you could add the phone to your family plan. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN

I have a lot of knowledge regarding the wireless providers - their services, prices and policies, both GSM AT&T and T-Mobile) and CDMA (Verizon, Sprint/Nextel).
