Cellular Phones/sim card replacement

Question
I have been running on a grandfather clause with AT&T.  I originally signed a contract with CellOne which offered a great plan for my college daughter through her school.  Since then - she lost her cell phone in an accident.  I now can no longer get a sim card (cellone) in order to use the plan I have been paying on for the past three months.  At&T tells me there are no more cards available and the best thing to do is upgrade.  The problem is - to get the same plan I now have to pay "double" the money.  I'm looking everywhere for a card in order to use the plan I am "still paying for".  I have been told by AT&T representatives to keep paying on the plan in order not to lose it.  What can I do to find a replacement sim card that originated as cellone?

Answer
You actually can't replace your SIM card because even if you found a blank CellOne SIM card, AT&T cannot activate it so I'm not sure why they led you to believe that that's what you need to do. I know that you don't want to pay more money, but your very best bet is to get a new plan and phone from AT&T. With a family plan, you only pay $9.99 to add her so I'm not sure how it can be double the money for you. Do you have AT&T today? What plan is she on and what plans were you looking at? Thanks.
