Cellular Phones/Carrier Conversion

Question
Our organization is changing from AT&T to Sprint. We have a collection of phones that employees want to buy. Can any of the AT&T devices be used on other networks or are they all throwaways?

Answer
None of the phones are SIM unlocked, so unless you get AT&T to SIM unlock them before you port your numbers to Sprint or you find a third party to do it, they will only work with AT&T SIM cards. If they are SIM unlocked, they will work with T-Mobile, but they will have to be programmed for WAP and MMS manually. They can't be used with any CDMA carrier (i.e., Sprint or Verizon, MetroPCS, etc.). For those employees that are sticking with AT&T, all they have to do is swap their AT&T SIM cards. It is very easy for them. They don't even need to call AT&T. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
