Question
I have an alltel Moto Q phone i was hoping i could use it on sprint. they said it wasn't in the system when i tried to activate it. I have heard rumors of flashing phones so they can be used like that i can't find out how. Can you help?

Answer
When Sprint told you the phone wasn't in there system, that means that the ESN number of your device is not in their listing. That is because only Sprint devices are in their database. When people flash phones, they basically clone ESN numbers that are in that carrier's database and they use an image (firmware) for that phone that will work with the carrier. If the carrier themselves doesn't flash the phone for you, you are taking your chances, but there are definitely lots of people on line and out there who will do it. Just do a search on line and type in "Flash Alltel Motorola Q to Sprint" and you will find a lot of people/places who will do this for you. Just remember a couple of things - it is likely that not all features of the phone will work properly. They may, but they may not. It is better if you can get a phone from Sprint, if possible and with new service they have many free and low cost phones and will come with a 12 months warranty. Your choice, of course, but worthwhile, if you can. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
