Cellular Phones/Motorola K1 Krazr Ring Tone

Question
QUESTION: Hi there,
I used to own a Razor and now have the K1.  On my old phone, I could select a ring tone for different people who called me.  For example, my wife had one ring, while work had another.  I have successfully downloaded 3 ringtones with out a problem.  I can select any of these to be my ringtone, but cannot select one ring tone for one person and another ring tone for someone else.  Now, I have to use the same ring tone no matter who calls.  It's not a big issue, but seeing as I could do it with the older model of phone, I am slightly miffed that I cannot do it with this newer model.  Do you have any suggestions?  Any advice you provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance,
Trista

ANSWER: Who is your wireless carrier? The reason that I am asking is because if it is T-Mobile or AT&T, for example, the contact has to be on your phone (not your SIM card) in order for the special ring tones to work for different callers. Let me know and I can try to help you. Thanks. DebiN

Answer
Make sure that the contacts are on your phone, not on your SIM card. It is likely that when you switched phones, the contacts were copied to the SIM card and you never moved them to the phone. Save your contacts directly to your phone and delete them from the SIM card and then you will be able to program the custom ringtones for them. Custom ringtones for individuals only work when the contact is saved to the phone itself. They do not work when the contact is saved to the SIM card. I hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks. DebiN
