Question
If Sprint/Nextel are the same company why can't I use the LG Lotus on Nextel? And why, If we get Nextel coverage do we not get Sprint.
Seems like they should be different companies

Answer
Sprint bought Nextel. The Nextel side of things uses an iDEN network, the Sprint sides uses CDMA technology. Though the company is technically one company, there are two completely separate networks. So, if you think about it, it wasn't a really wise move on Sprint's part to buy a company with a separate network. Only phones with dual radios (CDMA and iDEN) will work on both networks. the LG Lotus is a CDMA only device, therefore it does not work on Nextel. I hope this helps. DebiN
