Question
QUESTION: I keep hearing from these services that they can take a nextel blackberry 7520 and provide email coverage using the blackberry software installed vs going through opera to get gmail.  What I ideally want is to check either my gmail, yahoo, or outlook express via my blackberry and want to know how to do this with the setup I have- 7520 blackberry running Boost.

ANSWER: The BlackBerry Operating System does not permit you to check your GMail, Yahoo or Outlook Express via the internet. What you do with a BlackBerry is set it up so that you can get a copy of your emails from Yahoo, GMail and Outlook Express (which would actually be from your internet service provider email) on your BlackBerry as a email. With a cell phone or other data device, you can access the internet and oftentimes check your email accounts, but not with a BlackBerry. That's why you have to have a BlackBerry Internet (or Personal) data plan ($30.00 on average) with a BlackBerry. BlackBerrys work through a BlackBerry Server and that is the reason for the restrictions. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN

QUESTION: so is it possible to have this blackberry internet or personal data plan with blackberry through boost mobile.  if so how does one set this up to utilize this?  Boost does not support 3rd party BB's at all and so there is no one to pay for this data plan unless there are people that can provide this ability through installing the software and somehow enabling this to work...

Answer
There isn't a way to have a third party handle the BlackBerry server if the carrier doesn't support it. Since Boost cannot support the BlackBerry data, then if you can access the internet with the device, you should be able to check your GMail etc. I am not certain what the problem could be. I am so sorry that I couldn't be of more assistance. Thanks. DebiN
