Question
My brother and I go to colleges really far away from home. He recently lost his cell phone. I am authorized on the family account but he is not. Can I call t-mobile, buy a new phone and new contract for him, then have him pick it up at a t-mobile store without my there? I have to help him because my parents don't speak English very well, and I'm out of the country for this semester. Otherwise, what should we do? We have t-mobile phones and contracts. Thank you!!

Answer
The better thing for you to do is to order him a phone on-line and have it sent to him at school. That you can easily do since you are authorized on the account. Unfortunately, T-Mobile doesn't have a program where you can purchase on-line and pick up at the stores. The sales channels are different and not similar to pick ups at retail stores, for example. Just order the phone on-line and for the shipping address, have it sent to him. If, for whatever reason, it doesn't allow a different billing address then shipping address, then have it sent to your parents (since I assume that they have the billing sent to them) and then mail it to him. The phone will not be active until he calls in to activate the new SIM card. I hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks. DebiN
