Cellular Phones/unknown caller id

Question
Hi, I have a G1 handset, everything is fine except that for some reason after 2 months of use all of a sudden every call comes in as unknown even if in contacts. Text messages show the user. Could this be from a virus? If so how do I find out and fix? Is there a way to protect the phone against viruses? I hope you can help

Answer
I am not aware of any virus that affects the G1 and it is very unlikely that this is causing the issue that you are experiencing. What I would recommend is that you go to a T-Mobile store and ask them if they have seen this condition before and you might be surprised that they have and likely have a fix for it. A virus, I don't think so, but a software bug, perhaps. Even though some SmartPhones are like mini computers, they really don't get viruses like computers because the operating systems are all different. I really wouldn't worry about viruses for your G1. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
