Question
Hi DebiN,
It sounds like you know quite a bit about the issues about bringing a European iPhone to the US. A Danish relative has an iPhone which is now out of contract (only locked in for 6 months) He wants to give me his 3g-S when the new one comes out summer 2010. Will I be able to use my current At&t sim card from my Blackberry and use the iPhone instead?

Thank you for your help!

Morten

Answer
You can use your relative's iPhone, however, it will need to be SIM unlocked, if it is locked to his carrier. I don't know if his carrier SIM locks the device or not. If unlocked, it will work with your AT&T SIM card. However, please, please make sure that you contact AT&T and have them change your BlackBerry data plan to an iPhone data plan, otherwise, you will be charged for every kilobyte of data that you use. These plans cost the same, but are different to the billing system. Be 100% sure you do this. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
