Question
Hello,
About couple of months ago i bought a new nokia 5800 xpress
music smart phone. I liked it a lot. But now i am noticing a
strange problem. day by day am losing out my phone memory
(c:). when i bought it had around 60 mb free and of now it
has got only 16 mb free. I tried to backup the phone memory
so that i can format it and restore the things. But for my
surprise am not able to create the backup too. whenver i try
to create backup it says "memory full. close some
application and please try again" though all my applications
are closed. what could be the preoblem and is there any
solution to it? currently i don have my pc with me so i cant
even try backing up in pc too. please help me out.

Answer
It's very likely that the third party apps that you put onto the phone are not 100% compatible and they don't use the phone's internal memory very well, i.e., they don't clear the memory when they are not being used. So, you have basically used up the internal memory. There are certain apps etc. that can only use internal memory, not extra memory, so you have to be careful. You can't really back up and restore the way you want to. Though you probably don't want to hear this, I would suggest that you remember that this is a phone, not a computer and you might want to consider using a netbook or iPad or something more computer-like for apps, versus a phone. For occasional apps, these phones are fine, but when you start trying to do too much, it just doesn't work. Though phones are getting smarter and have a lot more memory than in the past, they still aren't computers or even mini computers.
