Question
I am looking at where to buy a verizon blackberry curve with
no contract. this is the one with the touch trackpad. I own
a droid eris from verizon, and got my last replacement phone
and now i do not have insurance on it, and well i dropped it
3 days after getting it when my dog tripped me. I have been
trying to find an inexpensive blackberry but so far have had
no luck, ive tried ebay and craigslist, but i cant find any.
My screen is ruined and it works but no very well. If you
knew where i could buy one for under $150 that would be
great, i just don't have the money to spend $300 on a new
phone which is what i would have to pay through verizon. I
am getting a new phone in march when my contract is up, and
i cant last 5 months with this phone because i cannot text
on it. Please help me!

Answer
You may want to ask Verizon if they have any refurbished phones you can buy from them to tide you over until you are eligible for your new phone. If you try to buy a phone on line or Craigs list, etc., you can easily get a phone that is stolen, still under contract, flashed to Verizon and won't work. Unfortunately, with CDMA technology, it's not easy to just buy a phone and make it work like you can with GSM, where you just put in your SIM card.
