Cellular Phones/cell phone dropping calls

Question
I have a Motorola VU204 cell phone which is about 1.5 years old.I get a new phone every two years with my Verizon contract renewal.(I have had Verizon for about 6 years). This phone has been dropping calls much more frequently than ever before, even those made from locations where it always worked well before. The battery needs charging more often than when new,of course, but this happens when the battery shows a full charge, and my signal shows good reception.Could this still be the battery?Or should I just look for another carrier?

Answer
I would suggest that is likely not an issue with Verizon, but may be an issue with your battery and more likely the phone's internal antenna may be damaged. Batteries typically last much longer than 1.5 years. The phone itself could be one that has issues. I would suggest taking the phone into Verizon and having them look at it for you to see if there may be damage to the battery. If you can hold off for a few more months until you are upgrade eligible, I would recommend getting a new phone that is not a Motorola and try another brand. Motorola used to be the leader in cell phones, but these days, they aren't really the best. I would recommend getting a different phone. Talk to the phones at Verizon when you get a new phone to see which one they recommend that will do the things you need. Hope this helps.
