Answer
The BlackBerry Curve 9300 is a BlackBerry just like all other models of BlackBerrys. All BlackBerrys are great messaging phones in general because they have a full keypad. The newer BlackBerry operating system is easier for text messaging than prior versions and the 9300 has the latest software release, so it would be better than an older BlackBerry. Remember that if you buy a BlackBerry, you are required to have not only a voice plan, but a Data Plan, as well. With T-Mobile, that will run you $24.99 but includes 400 text messages. All SmartPhones require a data plan with the carriers. The Quick Messaging phones are not SmartPhones and they do not. So, if you need a BlackBerry for email, calendar, contacts and text, then it's a good choice. If all you need is messaging, I wouldn't recommend it. Its a lot of money to spend (money charges, not the cost of the device) if you don't need the other things. The 9300 is just a 3G Curve and replaces the 8300 series (which was a 2G Curve). It also has a trackpad instead of trackball which is much nicer. In my opinion, the best BlackBerry ever is the Torch (9800). It has a trackpad, touch screen and pull out keypad. Hope this helps.
