Cellular Phones/Internet on GoPhone

Question
I currently have a GoPhone w/ a 3gSIM and get to the Internet via MediaNet using minutes.  I'm thinking of changing to a 3G phone and wonder if I will be able use minutes to get to the internet but using 3G rather than EDGE?

Answer
Even if you go to a 3G phone, accessing the internet uses kilobytes, not minutes. The fact that 3G uses the same network for both voice and data doesn't change the way that AT&T bills. Data is billed in kilobytes and voice is minutes. AT&T does not run voice over IP (VoIP) and there is still a distinguishment between voice and data. Charges will be the same regardless of the phone you use. Hope this helps.
