Cellular Phones/Verizon Wireless

Question
I have had an account with Verizon for quite some time. I only use minimal minutes and don't text or need the data plans. I currently have a Motorola Razr that's on its last leg. I need to find a new phone. I do not want another plan and I do not want to sign on for another two years. I like the month-to-month that I've been on. However, all the phones available seem to be for texting and internet use. There are very few that are for just phone usage. And, the ones that are can be rather "manly" in looks and I prefer something more gender neutral. The basic phones are just ugly. However, I'm not sure what to do. I do NOT have a SIM card in this Razr phone, so I cannot go buy another phone and change the cards. Should I try a pre-paid such as Tracfone or what can I do?

Thanks.

Answer
Your best bet is prepaid based on your needs. All the phones today allow for text and data basically so there really aren't phones that are really "basic". If you want to stay with Verizon service, you will need switch to prepaid with Verizon. If you want a different carrier, then switch to Tracfone. They use mostly AT&T and in some areas, Sprint or others, but not typically Verizon. If you go to Walmart or a place that sells prepaid, you will get a brand new phone number and won't be able to move your Verizon number over in most cases.
