Question
a friend gave me her lg vx9700 (with verizon logo) that she flashed to metro pcs to upgrade on my verizon account (still have  7months) took it to verizon store and they asked if i wanted to set up with a new account and I said no, activate on existing account.  then he said no can do. I asked if could do after unlocking he said maybe.  Do you have any advise?  I want to replace my cheapo phone with the vx9700.  thanks!

Answer
Unfortunately, Verizon is correct. Once that phone was flashed to MetroPCS, it can no longer be activated on the Verizon network. It's now a MetroPCS phone. It's not about unlocking, you can't unlock a CDMA phone. It was flashed. You would have to pay someone to flash it back to Verizon and then maybe it might work on their network. I would recommend that you consider getting a refurbished phone from Verizon or seeing if you can find a Verizon phone on line (not one that was flashed) and that should work for you. I'm assuming that the phone you have is no longer working. I hope this helps.
