Question
Hi DebiN, I have a prepaid tmobile sidekick 3 and I've been searching to buy a new phone, and I've been considering the tmobile mytouch slide. couple questions:
1) would it be possible to take the sim card out of my sidekick and use it in the mytouch, that way ill keep my awesome prepaid sidekick plan?
2) is the mytouch considered a smartphone? if so, how much per kilobyte of data is it?
I'm pretty sure that's it as far as questions go, but if you have any additional info or personal opinion of the mytouch, please inform me!
thanks a lot!!

Answer
Your SIM card will not work in a post-paid T-Mobile phone. You will not be able to keep your plans for a Sidekick and use it in the MyTouch. You will need a post paid plan with a voice and data plan to use the MyTouch.

It's a SmartPhone because it has a Windows-type operating system. All SmartPhones have the ability to use data features like getting your email, internet, etc. that are similar to a computer. You don't pay by the kilobyte, you typically get an unlimited data plan. The ocst of which is $24.99 and includes 400 text messages.

The MyTouch is a great HTC device. If you are in the market for a SmartPhone and don't mind moving over to a post paid plan, it's great. Big difference in price though, you will need both a voice and data plan. T-Mobile has some really reasonable unlimited plans if you are interested also. Someone coming from prepaid may have issues with the costs, though, so make sure you figure out what you really spend today to determine if it will be worthwhile for you. Thanks.
