Question
I found a Blackberry 8830 World Edition phone and I just got it unlocked from a friend, he said now I have to activate it. I am with Rogers Wireless and basically how would I activate the phone?

Answer
This device is likely branded by Verizon. If so, it is a CDMA device and will not work on Rogers GSM network. It is incompatible, unfortunately. I'm sorry that you wasted your money getting it unlocked because it won't work on your carrier's network. You would need a GSM BlackBerry for your carrier. The compatible device to what you have is the 8800, 8810 and 8820. Those ending in 30 are CDMA. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
