Question
Have a Moto Q9H and the corresponding unlock code.  Recent changes in the company no have me on the Nextel work.  Since I have the unlock code, I can get the phone to recognize the sim card but cannot get the signal to recognize.

Is it possible to update the firmware settings on this Q9H (originally for ATT) to work on the Nextel network?  If so, what is the best way to find and perform the update?

Answer
It is not possible to use the Motorola Q9H on the Nextel network. Your phone works only on GSM and Nextel works on iDEN (and with Sprint on CDMA). The SIM card for your Nextel service is not compatible with this phone. iDEN is a different technology entirely and you can only use a phone with an iDEN radio (one branded by Nextel). The phone will recognize a SIM card because it fits the slot, but it will never work. You don't need the unlock code or anything else, you just need AT&T service for this phone to work. Firmware won't do it either. It doesn't have an iDEN radio antenna (i.e., internal hardware) and you can't change that type of thing. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
