Cellular Phones/Use HTC HD2 with AT&T?

Question
QUESTION: I love the HTC HD2, but I have AT&T. I am afraid if I get the HD2, and get it unlocked that all the features will still not be available to me. I currently have and IPhone with the $30 "IPhone Plan" where I get unlimited internet. Will this still let me have unlimeted internet on my HD2, or does it only work for the IPhone? I also read somewhere that TMobile phones are "setup" to only work with TMobile so is it true that only the basic functions will work for me such and texting and talking. (The person said the internet wouldnt work) BUT I read somewhere else that it would work but it would only be 2G, I thought that was only for the UK version tho, but they said US too. Please help me with all of this confusion,
Thank you so much for your time

ANSWER: If you have an iPhone today and AT&T for service, I STRONGLY recommend that you do not purchase the HTC HD2. You would have to program the internet settings and it will work, but why would you want this when you have an iPhone? Windows Mobile is not anywhere near as powerful or smart as the iPhone operating system and what does this device have that is so far better? It's basically a device that is copying what the iPhone already does. If you have T-Mobile service, then I would say go for it, but if you have AT&T and are planning on staying with them, then don't consider this device. It is definitely NOT worth it. These days, if you don't have an iPhone, or BlackBerry, consider Android, but don't consider Windows Mobile. That's my advice. I hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN

QUESTION: Thanks, I just loved the bigger screen, the better resolution, the multitasking you have with the HTC HD2, whereas the IPhone is VERY limited on. I did read however there is going to be a new IPhone that will probably come out this summer, but I also read that they will probably be making the screens smaller. And that there is an update that is going to make multitasking available for Iphones now. I use to have the HTC Fuse and I actually loved everything about it, but it was just too thick because of the slide out keyboard and I couldn't put it in my pocket so I got the Iphone. I just wish I could put the Apple Apps in HTC phones, ha ha ha.

ANSWER: The iPhone has multitasking - it's a 3G device that allows for simultaneous voice and data. If you mean multitasking by having multiple programs open at once, I'm not a big fan of that as it uses a lot of memory and isn't the best use of memory in my opinion. No one knows about a new iPhone as Apple keeps all of that very quiet. What types of things are you wanting to do that the iPhone won't do that you feel the HTC phones do?

QUESTION: Yea I mean multitasking as in running multiple applications. I like how while on the phone with someone on the HD2 you can go directly to their email, I would use that ALOT. I like the tethering on the HD2 also would come in handy for me. For some reason on my Iphone it wont let me talk and use data at the same time, I dont know if that has something to do with the sim card or the fact that my Iphone is a 3g and not a 3gs. I just got this phone a year ago thought and the sim card was up to date then. I saw some clips on you tube of iphone multitasking, I thought it was supposed to be the new one but, that may have been a hack. They had a picture on the background and instead of having the "phone" "mail" "safari" and "ipod" preset at the bottom they had other apps as well, and more than 4. They scrolled to the right to show the others. I do love the apps on the Iphone and they do come in handy such as the southwest airlines app. I just feel like the Iphone is so limited. The apps make the Iphone. Im looking for something in a phone that is more for business(but still a little for play), something to help me stay organized and make everything less of a hassle.

Answer
If you live in an area where AT&T has 3G with simultaneous voice and data, you will definitely be able to talk on the phone at the same time that you access the internet on your iPhone. If you can't do this, you can go into an AT&T store and ask them about this. It is a feature of their network and you can definitely do it on the iPhone. It is available on the 3G and you don't need the 3GS to do this. In my personal opinion, the iPhone is definitely not limited. And you may want to instead consider waiting for the newer iPhone firmware which will allow you to multitask more similarily to the Android with multiple tasks at the same time. Either way, I would strongly recommend going into the AT&T store so that they can show you how you can talk and email at the same time. Honestly,I'm not a big fan of HTC. I hope this helps. Thanks.
