Question
I have a verizon phone that some one gave me and would like to put it on my sprint account, dose it matter who the phone is by. thank you.

Answer
Yes it does matter. Your Verizon phone is locked to Verizon. The only way to use it with Sprint is to have it flashed to Sprint. If Sprint sells the exact same model, then it likely can be flashed and will work for all features. If they don't sell the same model and there is an image to flash it to that is similar, it will typically only work partially, i.e., voice calls and text and won't work for accessing the internet or MMS messaging. My recommendation is that you take the phone to Sprint to ask them if they can flash it for you. If they can't, then check the internet to see if there is someone out there who flashes phone that can do this. If you that route, you risk having someone who doesn't necessary know what they are doing, but that's your choice. If it were me, if Sprint wouldn't do it, I wouldn't bother. I might instead try to find someone who has Verizon today who needs a new phone and give or sell it to them. Hope this helps. Thanks. DebiN
