I was wondering if you could help me with something. I understand from reading around on this site that METROPCS may not have the ability to receive SMS's from all carriers from around the world however I'm with OPTUS from Australia and my friend joined up with Metro about 1.5 weeks ago. Our SMS's were working fine for about a week and now my SMS's don't get through to his cell phone at all. His gets through to mine perfectly fine. Would you have any ideas why? or what we can do about it? Thanks for your time and help!
Rebecca
Answer I have a feeling that previously, you were replying to your friend's SMS's and those were the ones that went through fine. Now, if you start a new SMS, it doesn't go through. I would recommend that you delete your friend from your contacts and then when he sends you a text, reply back to that text and then add him back into your contacts from that message. Since he used to be with another carrier, the record you have of him in your contacts is with the other carrier and that's why it isn't going through. By adding him into your contacts from a current SMS, you will be adding him with his MetroPCS information and then it should work fine. This is very common especially with international and especially with small regional carriers like MetroPCS. The information of the change doesn't filter all the way through. I hope this helps.
