Cellular Phones/LG Expo phone is locked-pin number is not working. Is there another way to unlock besides a hard reset?

Question
Hello, my AT&T LG Expo GW820 Windows Mobile 6.5 phone is locked--I'm not using the fingerprint scanner but instead the pin code that I set (not puk) to unlock the phone.  It's not accepting my pin.  AT&T has tried re-registering the phone, but that didn't work.  They suggested getting a new sim card, but that didn't work.  LG suggested performing a hard reset, but I have documents saved to the device memory that I hadn't copied onto the storage card yet and that I need to get access to again.  Is there a way to bypass the pin code entry method without a hard reset?  Thank you.

Answer
There isn't any other way to reset the password without hard resetting the phone. If I were you, I would really search my memory to see if there is anyway to figure out the code you used to lock the phone. Have you tried absolutely everything that you can think of? A new SIM card has nothing to do with this, so not sure why they recommended this. I hope you can think of the code, because otherwise, you will have to wipe everything out, I'm sorry to say.
