QUESTION: I want to call a USA cell mature husband and wife from a UK landline at absolute zero cost to the USA cell. They are both recession job loss victims and cannot afford any luxuries. Their landline has gone and they use a cell for emergencies/family. I have known them for 12 years and want to maintain our friendship so I will absorb the total cost. Are you able to help/advise me? ANSWER: john,  depending on how their cell is billed or if it's a prepay one will determine their cost.  do you know what company they are with and what kind of plan they have.  I'm afraid either way they will use minutes or use money, but maybe i can help if i know more.

QUESTION: Thank you Denny.  I have an answer from them:
"we use US Cellular phone service...it is not a prepaid phone...we pay monthly on a plan"
I suspect it will all depend on their plan but I also see it costing them.
What are your thoughts of me supplying them with another phone and a plan I take care of suitable with what I'm trying to achieve? Are there good economic offers I can go online and see?

John, depending on the time difference and when you want to communicate with them, it may be best to call when they have "free" time.  this is generally on nights and weekends after a specified time depending on their plan.  their time is used based on where they are and what time it is where their phone is.  so it would make no difference where they get a call from.  hope this helps.
